class descriptions

pilates 1:
Recommended for those with little or no previous experience. Learn or review the basics of Pilates alignment, breath, and control. Begin to understand how to control your body in the proper way.

pilates 2:
For those with a comfortable understanding of the basics of Pilates. Learn more challenging moves, and begin to incorporate small props. Continue practicing body control.

pilates 3:
For advanced level, with prompt recall of movement mechanics. This class builds choreographed combinations of mat and standing exercises. Some small props.

pilates for weight loss:
Get firm, feel fabulous with a low impact, total body program. Unique and effective combination of pilates and aerobic conditioning. Drop pounds, lose inches, get toned muscles. Improve overall strength, mobility and body image while having fun. All levels.

reformer 1:
Total body workout with a focus on correct body alignment and abdominal control. Learn Reformer basics. It is a good idea to have an idea of the Pilates principles before going into this class.

reformer 2:
For those with a comfortable understanding of the basics. Learn more challenging excercises including some standing and kneeling exercises. Begin to use the integrated system to add challenge.

reformer 3:
Advanced class for those with significant mat and reformer experience. Continue to build on the integrated system. Must have instructor recommendation.

integrated:
Use Tower and Reformer springs together to create challenge for strength and stability. Use jump board to add a cardio aspect. Focus on breath and control of speed and movement. Reformer experience required.

tower:
Heighten your Coreworks adventure. Apparatus springs will assist or challenge your workout. Total body resistance workout using Pilates principles. Focus on control of movement. Suitable for all levels with previous Pilates experience.

total body strength (TBS):
Improve functional moving strength. Use your abs while you strengthen the entire body, incorporating small weights, body bars, bands, resistance tubes and balls. Wear sneakers.

cardio core challenge:
Challenge the cardiovascular system, while working balance, agility, core stabilization, and strength. This class uses the BOSU and is low impact. All levels. Wear sneakers.

NEW! outdoor circuit:
A cardio and strength circuit held outside as weater permits. Approx. 1 1/2 miles of cardio bursts interspersed with strength training movements using body weight and resistance bands. Wear comfortable shoes and don't forget water and sunscreen. Strollers welcome.

Classes with multiple levels (1 & 2, or 2 & 3):
Small class size allows for progressions and modifications as needed to vary difficulty level.

Flow Yoga:
Flowing movement that integrates a variety of yoga postures with some Pilates core exercises that will stretch you, strengthen you and keep you moving. All levels.

NEW! Pilates Mechanics Workshop:
FIRST Thursday of every month. Learn detailed control components and science of the method. Strongly recommended for those with less than 6 months experience. All levels of experience can refine their skills and benefit from this workshop.

NEW! Reformer Essentials Workshop:
FIRST Monday of every month at 6pm. Learn to control your movements properly and precicely. Great to try the reformer for the first time or re-focus your practice. Recommended for those with less than 6 month experience.

*pre- and post-natal pilates*
Clients benefit from regular pilates mat, reformer, and tower classes with a few modifications due to their changing bodies. Special equipment is provided and a focus is placed on preventing pregnancy postural changes and related soreness. Contact us for more information.
